I thought the question about what the ideal number of faculty compared to administrators/support staff was fascinating. The article explores the facets of the question through University of Nebraska, but there is no clear conclusion other than to say that the stereotypes are debunked on multiple sides.

I am not able to access the article, but the immediate thought that comes to mind is that such a question should be framed in terms of progress toward the mission of the institution. Another thought that comes to mind is that the focus of education is - in my mind - student learning, so whether we are talking about faculty or staff, the question is whether or not resources are being effectively utilized toward this end.
